HOME
VISITS
Truebright
Science Academy will
implement a new policy which
requires one home visit be made
each year to every student’s
home. Many school districts
now have programs that require
teachers to visit their
students' homes each school
year.

FEEL
GOOD: HELP STUDENTS
As a public charter school, we
receive a per student
reimbursement that barely covers
day-to-day operating expenses.
Our funding is 15% less than
non-charter Philadelphia schools
and 50% less than most suburban
Philadelphia schools. As a
result, we rely on private
donations.

Most colleges and universities
require at least two years of
successful study of a world

A letter we received from the
School District of Philadelphia
states,
[On August 14], at a press
conference held at the School
District Education Center,
Governor Rendell announced a
plan to provide Philadelphia
public, private and charter
school students in grades 7-12

beginning September 2007.
Students who live more than a
mile and a half from school will
be eligible for the free weekly

school will be eligible for
reduced costs passes. The free
and reduced-cost plan does NOT
apply to students in grades K-6.
